The Allegheny Intermediate Unit (AIU3) developed a web-based data collection, management, and reporting system to assist school districts in organizing and using their data for informed decision-making. Using CDA, schools can make informed decisions about curricula, strategic planning, and school policies through systematic data collection and analysis to positively influence the school’s physical, social, and learning environments.
The fully secured, password-protected system is available 24/7 from any computer with an Internet connection. CDA accommodates any school’s district, state, standardized and local assessment data, in addition to student demographic information. The system also allows designated users to capture, manage, and report student data across multiple programs, years, and indicators through standard reports and a simple step-by-step database query. Unlike pre-packaged software programs, the district’s CDA database is customizable to each district’s specifications. Also, the school district controls user access and the level of access.
CDA is a support system for districts that want to improve accountability and data management. School administrators are increasingly being called upon to account for decisions, yet they currently lack the right data platform to support their responses. CDA breaks through the old constraints and enables school districts to answer any question, any time, from any place with Internet access. As federal and state mandates require more detailed reporting and accountability, CDA is ready to make reports on student assessment and demographic data.
AIU's Evaluation, Grants, and Data department helps school districts leverage strengths to develop, build, implement, and evaluate dynamic educational programs, attract dollars to support those programs, and align curriculum and utilize technology to improve the efficiency of those programs. In addition to CDA, we offer the following services to LEAs:
The average time to become operational is approximately four (4) to six (6) weeks; however, the length of time necessary to complete each step is dependant on the district’s ability to complete the necessary tasks.
*Some vendors may require districts to purchase a module to enable data to be exported out of one system and into CDA.
